December 12th marks the 40th anniversary of The Clash’s hugely influential album ‘Sandinista!’.
To celebrate, they have released a video for “The Magnificent Seven”, shot and edited by filmmaker Don Letts. The video features footage of their performance on The Tomorrow Show with Tom Snyder and previously unseen footage of them in New York, before their legendary residence at Bonds Casino.
Director Don Letts said: “They were always ahead of the game – Sandinista! signposted the multi-cultural way music was going and the elements that make The Clash great are still a currency that’s recognised by youth in the 21st century”
