Here’s Marketing Assistant Sean Mackey with the story of how he became a Foo Fighter.

“I was born too late. I suffer from golden age syndrome. I suffer from the realisation that I can never experience a real boogie wonderland, I’ll never be a true punk or be part of the New Romantic movement.

“I was already behind the times when 14 year old me discovered Foo Fighters. When ‘The Pretender’, with all its angst, punched me in the face with all its raw power and energy, I was hooked. I wanted to tell everyone about this amazing band that I’d just discovered but I was 13 years too late and didn’t want to look like an idiot.

“After my first contact with all things Foo, I had come alive with a tenacity to consume as much of their back catalogue as physically possible. I immersed myself in the previous 6 albums, all their singles and the plethora of hilarious and inventive videos and was utterly and joyously hooked. Days, weeks and months passed and the Foo Fighters were constantly on repeat.

“It’s now been 10 years since I started fighting foo and in that time I’ve lived through three more albums, been privileged to have three more live experiences and I even have tattoos that pledge my admiration to the band. In that time, my whole relationship with music changed.

“I think it’s safe to say Dave, Chris, Taylor, Nate and Pat really did change EVERYTHING for me.”
